Submissions Policy

N.B.: Due to the unexpectedly high number of submissions, from now on we will only consider releases from January 2025 onwards. If you won’t be contacted back within 5 days it means that we are unfit to observe your music.
It is not possible to submit more than one album/single at a time and, if already observed, you can submit your next work no earlier than 3 months.

First of all, an incredible revelation: we love all music. We really do.

Nonetheless, if you’d like us to listen to yours, we hope it shows some affinity with the genres mentioned on the homepage.
However, it might happen that your music doesn’t align with our tastes. You should know that even though we like everything, very little truly excites us. In this case, we wish you all the best, but we won’t post anything about your music—and that will be entirely our fault.

If we do mention your music on this blog and on our Instagram account, it will ultimately receive a rating between 6 and 10. Again, remember that it’s just our humble opinion [to clarify: our final album ratings will be the arithmetic mean of the ratings given by the members of our team]. If you’re up for it, take the chance.

Now, keeping all of this in mind, if it’s okay for you, write an email to:

mail@the-abstract-observer.com

In the subject line of the email, write:

Submission: Artist/Band name or moniker – album/ep name

In the body of the email, include:

A link to your music on Bandcamp

Your Instagram account @name (if you have one)

As you can see, a Bandcamp release is necessary. Bandcamp links must allow name-your-price or free download. Only if the music is pay-to-download, please send us a “Bandcamp Yum Code” to redeem or a Google Drive/Dropbox link to the full work in 320 kbps mp3 format.

P.S.: PLEASE do not send files via email.

Regards.
