There’s this graceful melodic passage built around the 4th, 5th and minor 7th degrees of a major scale, creating a sound that feels both sublimely uplifted and subtly bittersweet. The sustained drones provide a warm, enveloping foundation, allowing the melody to hover above like a slow-moving light. God is in the details.
